Special News!
The Board of the Sarasota Choral Society is pleased to announce that the
Society will be coming under the new leadership of Genevieve Beauchamp for the 2009 season.
Previous Artistic Director, Deidre Reigel, resigned in January after
coming to amicable terms with the Board. Deidre expressed regret that
she would not be continuing on with the Society, but felt that it was
time for her to pursue another path. In her letter of resignation, she
noted that she had made many wonderful friendships during her time with
the Society, and the pleasure she had in working with us all. She hopes
to stay in touch with many of the members in other capacities. Thank you
Deidre for the talent, energy, and hard work you put in while our
Artistic Director, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors!!
We welcome Genevieve to the Choral Society and look forward to an
exciting 65th anniversary season as she brings a wonderful array of
talent to our organization.

Choral Society to host ABC
Cafe
The Sarasota Choral
Society will be hosting the ABC Cafe breakfast in Keys Hall at Bee Ridge
Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, July 26, 2009 at 8:45 AM. This
will be a great opportunity to meet and become more acquainted with our
new Artistic Director, Genevieve Beauchamp. All Choral Society members
are invited and encouraged to attend. If you would like to lend a
helping hand or possibly sing a song or two, please contact
Paul Weber or
Debye Bernard.
REHEARSALS
We are looking
forward to seven exciting and challenging rehearsals under Genevieve's
baton beginning on October 20th at Bee Ridge Presbyterian Church, 4826
McIntosh Rd, Sarasota (corner of Proctor & McIntosh Roads).
Rehearsals with the
entire choir will begin at 7 p.m. and last for
approximately 1 and a half hours each. Remember to come a little early
to your first rehearsal to allow for registration. Some rehearsals will
be followed by sectional rehearsals. Further details will be available
at a later date.
On October 20th, the rehearsal will begin with a brief but vital
organizational meeting to discuss plans for the 65th anniversary with
the entire membership. It will be followed promptly by a sing-through of
all the planned selections for the 2009 concert.
Rehearsal dates are:
October 20 and 27
November 3, 10, 17, and 24
December 1
New members are
welcome and encouraged. Scores will be available at rehearsal for a
nominal fee of $10.
