SPRING 2014 EVENTS!

Dear Members of the Sarasota Choral Society,

Happy New Year!  I would like to thank you once more for being a part of this wonderful organization.  People continue to come to me to this day to express how wonderful Messiah was, and I couldn't agree more!

We have a couple of great singing opportunities to share with you until we meet again in the fall, and I hope that I can count on you to participate in these two wonderful events, both held at the Van Wezel this year.

The first one will be on April 3rd.  In this first performance, Music Makes Community, you will be singing with a large orchestra under a well respected conductor from New York, Matthew Lazar.  I will share the stage with you when I perform Gershwin's famous Rhapsody in Blue.  Rehearsals begin soon, so please mark your calendars!  Please see below for more information.

I also need 12 singers per part (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) for our collaboration with Gloria Musicae, Booker High School, the Jewish Chorale, Manatee and Sarasota Dance Alliance and Sarasota Young Voices.  This group will be presenting a poignant Florida premiere of Voices of the Holocaust at the Van Wezel on Monday, April 28th.  Please let us know if you are planning on doing this so we can send you specifics. You may contact me through this link; Genevičve. There are no additional membership charges to participate in these events for Sarasota Choral Society members. Help us spread the word!

I hope to see all of you soon at one or both of these events, and until then, have a safe, healthy and peaceful January!

All Best,

Genevieve
