Lisa
Wittmann, MD was born and raised just outside of
Chicago, Illinois and enjoyed singing throughout her
childhood in choirs and school musicals. Just prior to
her high school graduation, Lisa lived for a year as an
exchange student in Hamburg, Germany. She then returned
to the United States and moved with her family to
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There Lisa auditioned and was
accepted in the Bel Canto Chorus where she sang
in the alto section for the Messiah and a
production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Yeoman
of the Guard”.
In college
Lisa changed her focus to preparation for medical school
and she ultimately completed a Pediatric residency. By
that time Lisa had met her husband, Dr. Mark Wittmann, a
Hamburg native, and they had begun raising a family
which grew to include three daughters. In 2001 the
Wittmann family moved to Sarasota and Lisa found the
time to rediscover a love of singing. Lisa draws much
inspiration from her varied life experiences in
particular the courage of her patients and the pursuits
of her children.
