An accomplished young artist, tenor Martin
Shalita has been heard nationally and internationally in opera,
oratorio and recital to great acclaim. Since 2008, Mr. Shalita
has had a fixed engagement as a company tenor in Germany having
started in Düsseldorf at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein where he
sang Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and
subsequently at the Stadt Theater Koblenz where he has achieved
notable success singing the title role in Offenbach’s Orpheus
in the Underworld and Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don
Giovanni. Mr. Shalita maintains an active recital schedule
having performed Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin in
Salzburg, Austria as well as the tenor solo in Orff’s Carmina
Burana. Other appearances include performances of
Schubert’s Mass in G, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and
Handel’s Messiah, as well as an appearance with the
Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra for a night of Rodgers and
Hammerstein. Mr. Shalita holds Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in
Vocal Performance from the University of South Florida, and is a
doctoral candidate at the University of Miami. Mr Shalita
currently resides in Koblenz, Germany.
