Dr. Sandra
Rogers is a native Alabamian and new to the state of Florida.
Her extensive repertoire includes the soprano solos in major
works by Bach, Handel, Telemann, Haydn, Honegger, Respighi,
Brahms, Mozart and Britten. Dr. Rogers has also sung leading
soprano roles: Countess Almaviva, Mrs. Ford, Oscar, Perichole,
Miss Pinkerton, Nella, Teblado, and the Mother in "Amahl and the
Night Visitors". She has performed many contemporary works by
major composers in recital and concert and formed the MOP
Quartet (Music of Poetry ensemble) to improvisationally perform
contemporary works by American poets.
Dr. Rogers
has taught in colleges and universities: University of the
Incarnate Word (San Antonio, TX); Clayton College and State
University (Morrow, GA); Birmingham-Southern College
(Birmingham, AL), University of Montevallo (Montevallo, AL) and
Morris Brown College (Atlanta, GA).
Dr. Rogers
has performed as soprano soloist with the SUNY Stony Brook
Chorus and Orchestra, Choral Society of the Hamptons and the
Long Island Choral Society.
Presently,
Dr. Rogers is the Music Director and Organist at St. John's
Episcopal Church in Largo, FL.
She holds the
Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from SUNY Stony Brook; the Master
of Music Education Degree from Texas State University; and the
Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Texas. |
