Geneviève Beauchamp is in her fifth year as the Artistic Director of The
Sarasota Choral Society and also serves as the Founder and Artistic Director of Sarasota
Young Voices, a community children’s choir that serves Sarasota and Manatee
Counties.
Since its first year of existence, SYV has been featured at Disney’s Magic Kingdom
as well as many other local venues. The children have worked with two respected
composers, sung in a prelude to our 64th, 65th, 66th, and 67th Messiah production, and
performed at Sarasota Arts Day. SYV has also performed at several area nursing
homes, as well as at a local public school. It is becoming known nationally by
being invited to several national choir competitions located in the US and
Canada.
Ms. Beauchamp
has been an accompanist and artistic director with the Tampa Bay Children’s
Chorus for several years, which was founded by Dr. Averill Summer, with whom she
has traveled to Scotland, England, and Canada. She has also directed a choir at
Booker High School for a year. She sings with Con Amore, a Tampa Bay chamber
ensemble for treble voices.
Ms. Beauchamp received an M.M. in piano performance from the University of South
Florida and a B.M. from the Université de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada. An active
pianist, she has been a national finalist in the Canadian Music Competition in
2000, a participant in the Nina Wideman Piano Concerto Competition and the
winner of the 2002 USF Concerto Competition. She was the recipient of the 2001
Jacques Abram Memorial Piano Award and the 2002 Outstanding Merit Award in
Piano. She shares her love of music with her husband William and their two
daughters, Ariane and Daphne.
