General Information

Q: What is the date, time, and location of the Messiah performance?

A: Please refer to our website Home and SCS News pages for detailed information on this year’s performance, including venue address, date, and start time.

Q: How long is the Messiah performance?

A: The concert runs approximately 90 minutes.

Q: What type of music will be performed?

A: The concert features a chamber orchestra, organ, professional soloists, and an all-volunteer chorus performing the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah (G Schirmer edition).

Tickets & Seating

Q: How can I purchase tickets?

A: Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite on the SCS website Tickets page.  Only a very limited number of tickets will be available for purchase at the door on the day of the performance.

A single complimentary ticket for the Messiah performance is included with the Society Patron membership.

Q: Are group discounts available?

A: Yes, we do offer a 10% discount for groups of 10 and greater.  Please contact us in advance to take advantage of this purchase opportunity.

Q: Can I choose my seats?

A: Our venue has an open seating policy.  However, preferred VIP seating is available to our Society Patron members.


Q:  Can I purchase tickets for the dress rehearsal?

A: No, the dress rehearsal is closed to the public.

Accessibility & Venue

Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

A: Yes, the venue is ADA compliant. Please contact us in advance if you have specific needs.

Q: Is there parking available at the venue?

A: Yes, parking is available at the venue. See the campus map below. We recommend arriving early and car pooling if attending the event with friends.

Concert Etiquette

Q: What should I wear to the Messiah concert?

A: There is no formal dress code. Business casual to semi-formal attire is typical, but we encourage you to dress comfortably and respectfully.

Q: When should I arrive?

A: Doors open approximately 60 minutes before the performance. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to choose your seat and settle in.
​
Q: Is late seating allowed?
​
A: Late seating is allowed only during appropriate breaks in the performance, as determined by the ushers.
​
Q: Can I take photos or videos?
​
A: Photography, video, and audio recording are strictly prohibited during the performance.

Miscellaneous

Q: Are children allowed at the concert?
​
A: Yes, but we recommend the concert for children aged 10 and above. 
​
Q: Will there be a program or notes about the music?
​
A: Yes, printed programs with notes and performer bios are available at the entrance, and digital versions can be accessed via our website.

Q: Can I meet the soloists or conductor?
​
A: Meet-and-greet opportunities may be available as performer schedules permit, however, our Society Handel Supporter and Society Patron members will receive priority access. We encourage you to consider one of these membership opportunities if you want to meet and have your picture taken with one of the soloists or the conductor this year.
